Time flies...

Hasn't this year started quickly?...It's always busy in our house in the school holidays...We spent some time on the boat on the harbour and caught up with the gorgeous Sonia (Forever and Always) and her SIL Mitch. This was the only pic taken of our adventure... we met Sonia at Manly and took the boat to Chinamans Beach, a gorgeous quiet beach on Sydney Harbour. Hubby, the kids and I took the tender to the beach whilst Sonia and Mitch swam to shore....I'm very proud of Sonia for overcoming her fear of jumping in dark water...I couldn't do it...I watch too many shark documentaries lol

The rest of the time we have been at home, cutting trees and moving the cubby house and sandpit to the "playgroup area". We have cleared an area where the kids have their trampoline, cubby, swing set, seesaw,  and one of those roundabout things and a huge slippery dip from a council rebuild. They kids love it, they also want fairy lights in the surrounding trees, but I keep forgetting to buy them lol
I've also been sewing....my Sarah Fielke Happy Days 2016 BOM.

I have prepared lots of circles and the stripes for the borders...need to prepare the cornerstone appliqués yet...I'm sure all make it...fingers crossed thou
Only 8 days to go before he launch of Sarah's 2017 BOM Down the Rabbit hole ...can't wait❣❣❣❣❣

New Year...

Another year has past and it just goes sooo quick. We spent NYE on the harbour again and it was fabulous, noisy but fabulous !!!!  I am working hard on my Sarah Fielke BOM 2016...only a few more blocks and I can put this quilt top together. Sarah gave us three topics for the borders and of course I have chosen the one with the most work...sigh....but I am sure it will be gorgeous!!!

I've finished the large blocks and still have to appliqué the little leaves but I'm sure that won't take too long....

Tonight I'm doing needleturn appliqué on the second Hawaiian block in this quilt. I have loved this journey and can't wait till the end of the month when Sarah's  Down the Rabbit Hole 2017 BOM starts. I'm still deciding on my fabrics. I'd love to use French general but after three quilts my stash needs to be replenished...what a shame lol
Happy New Year to you and your families and I hope you all find time to stitch !!!
