A new addition

We had a great holiday at Grawin NSW (hubbys opal mine) these school holidays. Chookyblue and her family came for an overnight visit after a few years planning lol. Donna has a great blog post, with gorgeous piccies of her travels and the opal mine.

On the trip home I finished the final row of my old Kaleidoscope block 2, yes!! I was able to sew in the car..woohoo...a lot of finger pricks but at least I was productive in the 7 hours drive...

When I arrived home, blocks 3 and 4 were waiting for me (Monday), I madly cut and glued the next block ready for sewing.... but alas its still sitting on my sewing table waiting, waiting, waiting....

Tuesday I picked up two extra kids who were having a few days respite with us and on Wednesday we received a new addition to our family...a little girl Miss 3.  Not sure how long she will be with us, but a few months at least.... We also picked up my granddaughter yesterday for a two night visit...thank god I love kids lol

I haven't done very much sewing the last two weeks and I am 6 blocks behind on the Splendid Sampler and still need to applique many blocks for Sarah Fielkes BOM..I'm hoping to cut out some blocks tonight, once the little ones settle, fingers crossed thou, as I'm starting to show signs of lack of sewing...sore fingers and wrists lol...they need exercise!!

Its the first day of the school holidays here, yay!!!...the next two days I will be packing and sorting things to take on holidays, ...I am talking about my sewing hehehe, packing kids and hubby is an easy task. Its deciding what I can take with me that will fit in a medium tub...I've been working on LOTS lately and its been keeping me busy....

I'm keeping up with The Splendid Sampler, Old Time Kaleidoscope BOM, Happy Days BOM and a little Gossip in the Garden....plus two secret quilts.... I think this year is the year for a lot of finishes...fingers crossed hehehe

FNWF Update

Thank you Cheryl for hosting another Friday Night with Friends, I was lucky enough to sew the day and night, after all my domestic duties of course lol. I prepared eight blocks for my Sarah Fielke Happy Days BOM, and last night started to needleturn them. Yep ...I'm using my French general stash again.

I finished one block and a few leaves on a second one, but my eyes were starting to get tired....I need new glasses I think sniff sniff....

I also finished block one of Shiralee Stitches Old Time Kaleidoscope BOM...currently stalking Mr Postman for block two.

I cant wait to see what you all got up too, link here

Nundle 2016 guest designer Anni Downs

What a fabulous weekend, as always. This year the guest designer was Anni Downs; whose store 'The Home Patch' is my local quilt store!!!

Anni was under instructions, no EPP projects ( I wouldn't have complained lol) or bags. The project was a block roll. needlebo ok, pincushion and scissor keep.

All so gorgeous and in Anni's new fabric line, "the story of my day"

The lovely ladies at my table being shown how to needle turn by Anni. Jenny is checking the video I took of Anni's demonstration...not playing games lol

And a picture of Miss Shez...paying attention hahahaha

The bloggers had a Make it, Fake it or Bake it swap. These are all the lovely Anni Downs inspired projects.

As usual we ate, drank and was merry lol.  Deb V, Sandi and Gail in partying mode (below)...I had the pleasure of sitting next to Sandy and Gail this year. Sandy is the owner of Shiralee Stitches. Most of the blogger attendees are making Sandy's Lucy Boston or Old Time Kaleidoscope BOMs. I have completed block one and eagerly awaiting the postman on month 2.

My lovely roomie Trish, she is currently on her way to Paris for her long awaited European holiday...cant wait to see her pics!!! Travel safe Trish!

Although I took lots of pics this year, they weren't all with my camera...but don't worry Shez took enough for all of us! Bring on Girls Day in the Country March 2017!!!
