Scrub Stitchin Baradine 2018

What can I say??? I had the most fabulous time last weekend in Baradine. I have never laughed soo much in a longgg time...they always say ''Stitchin'' is good for the soul.

Most arrived around lunchtime on the Thursday and we stitched the day away Thursday and Friday. Saturday we went on a mystery tour ...we were told bring some stitching and walking shoes....8am a coach turned up and took us all 35kms to the Sculptures in the Bush...a 3.5km walk in bushland along the Dandry Gorge...and Saturday night was a "pink" dinner. I won a prize for the most outrageous outfit...hmmm dunno why and of course I don't have any pics lol

Sunday we held the Stitchin Olympics. I won bronze for completing the kit we received to remember the weekend. Kate got Gold and Julie silver...tis a gorgeous bag....I lurve it.....Then after lunch the last of us all packed up to head home.

A HUGE thank you to Chookyblue and Sonia who did a fantastic job organising everything. I always love catching up with old friends and especially making new ones.... See you all again next year and a few of you in October for the Bathurst Bloggers Meet.....I love my "tribe".

Lost in Play

Lost in Play is a business Ive started with my friend Bridgit, We create play materials, that will inspire creativity, imagination and a love of nature. We believe play and a connection with nature is essential for children's well being and development.

Story stones have long been used in history for story telling. Their magic and charm is still as strong as ever, story stones ignite the imagination, helps encourage creativity and language.
Simply take a stone from the bag and use that picture to start telling the story, pick another stone  to add a twist, another character another obstacle or just more fun. No two stories will be the same.

Our products are open ended to allow children to create their own stories and small worlds.

Our website is . You will find us on etsy too!! Im heading to Scrub Stitching tomorrow for 4 days.....woohoo sewing!

Nothing lights up a child's brain like play

Lost in play

Not much happening here in the sewing area, but I have been playing with some handmade toys...

My kids love tic tac toe so I thought why not make them a set. Have lots of ideas eg under the sea and bugs....and I started on the bugs first

I have sourced a wooden tic tac toe board that I can paint so just waiting for that, but the bug set is finished...of course they want now I'm working on dragonflies and ladybirds...they don't take long to make which is good in this house...

Master 4 has already asked for a set for his birthday next month.. the ideas are flowing ....

Back to sewing...

My kidlets went back to school today. The place is quiet and I'm looking forward to a routine again. I thought I would spend the morning sorting through some of my sewing as it has been neglected for a few months.

I finally finished my Sew Together bag...I only had  the tags to put on the zipper..... sigh....
but at least its done now and full of my Old Time Kaleidoscope which needs attention.

How cute is my M&M mug.. a Chrissy pressie from hubby ...

Next I tackled my "Down the Rabbit hole BOM".... and noticed I have lost a block or didn't make enough.... I have loved this BOM ... especially using brighter colours than I normally do. I'm only a few months behind and of course its the heavy applique border next...but I'll try and get it all cut out this week so I can pick it up when I can.

Sarah Fielke 2018 BOMs are starting soon and Ill need to be ready to start one of them. I've subscribed to both quilts  (pattern only) but haven't fully decided which one I will work on yet. My goal AGAIN this year is to work on my WIP and UFOs. I just need to decide which ones I'll tackle. Ohhh dear more decisions...they are never ending!
